April 10, 2024, Fort Lauderdale, FL – A day of water safety and aquatic sport was held in honor of H.S.H. Princess Charlene of Monaco at the City of Fort Lauderdale Aquatic Center in Florida. Over 200 children attended the special field trip event to participate in the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation Water Safety Day featuring life safety skills practice and sports demonstrations. The participants for the day’s planned activities are enrolled in the City’s Parks & Recreation programs for children ages 5-17.

Fort Lauderdale Mayor Dean Trantalis gave the opening remarks:
‘The City of Fort Lauderdale shares the mission of The Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation and its commitment, “to building a world where children from all backgrounds can learn how to swim and practice water safety especially in our community where we have many pools, waterways, lakes, rivers, and other bodies of water around us.”
The City of Fort Lauderdale shares many of the same interests as Monaco – boating, tourism, and swimming! This summer, the 2024 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games will be held in Paris, France, a neighbor nation of Monaco – today we’ll learn about aquatic sports and how to stay safe in the water.’

Even though HSH Princess Charlene was not able to attend, She sent a message for the occasion:
‘I am delighted to announce that my esteemed project of Water Safety Day will be soon implemented by My Foundation in the United States, with a particular focus on helping underprivileged children learn to swim.
As an advocate of water safety, I strongly believe that every child should have the opportunity to acquire essential swimming skills, regardless of their backgrounds.
By bringing this initiative to the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation USA, we aim to empower disadvantaged children, providing them with the necessary tools to enjoy water activities safely and confidently. I am thrilled to witness the positive impact this project will have on the lives of countless children, fostering a sense of joy, confidence, and security in and around water.’

H.E. Maguy Maccario-Doyle, Ambassador of Monaco to the U.S. and President of the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation USA, also sent a message:
‘I couldn’t be happier that the Fort Lauderdale Aquatic Center (FLAC) is hosting the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation Water Safety Day for youth and teens from the City of Fort Lauderdale’s PLAY and TRIPs programs on April 10. As the President of the Foundation’s US chapter, I know how vital it is for young people to learn how to swim and how to be safe around water. With the summer swim season fast approaching, it is the ideal time to start learning.
Good luck and happy summer!’

Monaco’s Honorary Consul in Miami, Tomas Abreu, attended the event:
‘I am very happy that I can be here today participating in this special water safety event hosted by the City of Fort Lauderdale and the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation USA. Drowning is one of the leading causes of accidental death, especially among children. That is why water safety and drowning prevention must be a priority for all of us. This is particularly important in South Florida, where we are surrounded by water, and we have the good fortune of being able to participate in outdoor activities all year round.
The Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation was created in 2012 and is devoted to water safety and drowning prevention, and to developing the education of children through the values of sport. For 10 years, more than 1,000,000 people have benefitted from the Foundations programs in more than 43 countries. As we enjoy the beauty and recreational opportunities that water
provides, let us never forget the importance of water safety and drowning prevention.’

A perennial favorite on the European choral concert circuit, the Monaco Boys Choir (Les Petits Chanteurs de Monaco) will kick off their East Coast tour with two concerts in New York City on July 6 and 7. The first at the Grotto Church of Notre Dame, organized by the Consulate General of Monaco in New York in partnership with Comité des Associations Françaises et de langue française de New York. The second at St. Bartholomew’s Church, presented by Great Music at St. Bart’s.

After New York City, the choir will visit Washington DC, Savannah, Port St. Lucie and Miami.

This year the Choir is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its founding by H.S.H. Prince Rainier of Monaco and will pay homage to its founder by performing one of his favorite pieces, Le Campanile de Saint-Nicolas

The Monaco Boys Choir, under the patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, and with the generous support of the Monégasque government, is able to donate its talents to concerts organized on behalf of humanitarian associations throughout the world. This award-winning troupe was founded in 1974 by Prince Rainier III to showcase the Principality’s historic association with culture and the performing arts. It is a part of the Monaco Cathedral Choir and is composed of talented children from ages eight to 18, who, after substantial training, traditionally embark on a spring tour of Europe and a summer tour across the globe. The Choir are especially popular for their repertoire of works for children, and have visited more than 35 nations and perform an average of 30 to 40 concerts a year.

On previous visits to the USA, they have appeared at prestigious venues including Yankee Stadium for a rendition of “God Bless America” at a game opening, at the Kennedy Center, and the Kravis Center in Palm Beach. They have appeared live on NBC’s The Today Show, and on many national networks.

The musical repertoire directed by Pierre Debat, includes musical works by Charpentier, Mozart, Bach, Mendelssohn, Fauré and Franck; French and Monégasque folk songs; English-language songs such as “My Love is a Red, Red Rose” and “Joshua” and patriotic American songs “God Bless America”, & “The Star Spangled Banner”.

The former Olympic swimmer champions water safety education by launching her foundation in the US and is honored for her commitment to the welfare of children through sport

LOS ANGELES, May 3, 2016 — On Wednesday, May 11, Her Serene Highness Princess Charlene of Monaco will launch the U.S. chapter of her foundation with an event at the Annenberg Community Beach House in Santa Monica to highlight learning-to-swim and water safety programs for youth. Along with U.S. Olympians Greg Louganis and Dara Torres, the Princess, a former Olympic swimmer, will be on hand with more than 40 local children, ages 8-13 from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Monica – Saint Anne School branch, to participate in the Safer 3 Water Safety Foundation’s Challenge. Santa Monica’s Mayor Tony Vazquez will present a Mayoral Proclamation to the Princess to mark the occasion.

“Around the globe, thousands of innocent lives are tragically lost to drowning every year. I am here to share with you how many lives we are saving – and how many more we can save, simply by training the trainers and by focusing on one person, one family, and one community at a time. Having spent years teaching underprivileged children to acquire basic water safety techniques around aquatic environments, I can only say that simple ideas are often the most effective,” said Princess Charlene.

In 2012, the World Health Organization (WHO) estimated* that drowning claimed the lives of 372,000 people worldwide, which represents 42 people per hour or more than 1000 people per day (latest statistics available) – and that drowning kills more children than tuberculosis or measles. To combat these devastating statistics, Princess Charlene set up her foundation in 2012 which has implemented an international three-tiered mission focusing on learning-to-swim, water safety, and sport and education programs to educate children and young people – regardless of their origins, culture or circumstances – and to arrange amateur sporting competitions which encourage healthy, active lifestyles, the value of friendships and team spirit. The foundation’s US board of directors includes, as president, H.E Maguy Maccario Doyle, Monaco’s Ambassador to the United States; Ms. Wallis Annenberg, president and CEO of The Annenberg Foundation; Mr. Greg Louganis, Olympic and world champion diver; and Ms. Dara Torres, Olympic and world champion swimmer.

Ambassador Maccario Doyle said, “It is a privilege, and indeed a pleasure, for me to support Her Serene Highness in the United States in her quest. We will work hard to promote water safety, sport and education programs, with a focus on the young, as well as the precious values of good sportsmanship like respect, teamwork and fair play. These values are central in Princess Charlene’s personal ethics. Her dedication to the safety and welfare of children, in particular, around the world is truly admirable and is to be applauded.”

“Princess Charlene has a unique and beautiful platform to engage kids with sports, and I’m honored by, and grateful to her, to help promote these values. I’m thrilled to have this opportunity, through the foundation, to help bring such important fundamentals into the lives of young people. Learning to swim can be life-saving, but is also a process that can be fun for the entire family,” said Mr. Louganis.

On May 12, the prestigious Blue Ribbon of The Music Center in Los Angeles, will honor the Princess with a special lunch at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in order to present her with a commemorative award in appreciation of her commitment to enriching the lives of children, and to acknowledge and welcome the launch of the US chapter of her foundation. The event entitled “Behind Palace Doors: A Conversation with Her Serene Highness Princess Charlene of Monaco” will be held under the honorary chairmanship of Wallis Annenberg. Mary Hart, TV personality and former host of Entertainment Tonight will be mistress of ceremonies.

The foundation’s US chapter launch is supported by the Annenberg Community Beach House at Santa Monica State Beach, the Safer 3 Water Safety Foundation, Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Monica – Saint Anne School branch, Dick and Noelle Wolf, Jacqueline Tesoriero, Renee Pepys Lowe, Larraine Segil, and Straps Unlimited, LLC.

This 501(c)(3) (pending) charitable organization will promote the benefits of sporting activities; teach children and adults basic swimming, water safety, first-aid and drowning prevention skills, and foster national or international amateur sports competitions.

This winter, New Yorkers won’t need a fairy godmother to taste the good life. Monaco Takes New York (February 15-21, 2016), a week-long celebration of the Principality, will be showcasing some of the best Monaco has to offer. While Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo will delight dance lovers with Cinderella at New York City Center, New York epicures will be treated to their own Monégasque experience, right across the street from the theater, at the famed Osteria del Circo.

MONTE-CARLO SBM
For over 150 years, Monte-Carlo SBM has been reliably delivering a unique lifestyle, an unparalleled tradition of hospitality and legendary savoir-faire, highly renowned and esteemed by a modern and demanding international clientele. The resort includes four casinos (including the famed Casino de Monte-Carlo), four hotels (Hôtel de Paris, Hôtel Hermitage, Monte-Carlo Beach, Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort), and 33 restaurants totaling six Michelin stars. Monte-Carlo SBM’s range of services extends to culture, entertainment and nightlife with several theaters (including the Sporting Monte-Carlo and the Opera House’s Salle Garnier), health and well-being with the Thermes Marins Monte-Carlo, and sports with the Monte-Carlo Golf Club and Monte-Carlo Country Club.

www.montecarlosbm.com

MONTE-CARLO BEACH HOTEL
Part of the Relais & Châteaux brand since its renovation by interior designer Madhavi in 2009, the vintage-style 5-star hotel offers a modern experience, combining the spirit of the Riviera’s golden era with the intimacy of a luxury resort. The hotel features a sea water pool, a private beach with an array of water sports and activities and 40 rooms, each with a view of the Mediterranean Sea.

As part of a group-wide initiative launched by Monte-Carlo SBM, the Monte-Carlo Beach is strongly committed to sustainable development and received the Green Globe Certification in 2014, an internationally recognized certification program designed for the travel and luxury tourism industry. One of the key actions of the hotel is the “Beach Goes Bio” concept, guaranteeing all organic and locally produced cuisine, making Elsa the first 100% organic restaurant to receive a Michelin star.

www.monte-carlo-beach.com

OSTERIA DEL CIRCO
It all started in 1974 when Sirio Maccioni opened what was destined to become a New York landmark – Le Cirque. For over 40 years, Le Cirque has offered an unparalleled dining experience, earning its place on New York’s gastronomical landscape. Staying very much a family-owned business, Sirio’s sons followed in their father’s footsteps and can be seen working at Le Cirque’s multiple locations and sister restaurants, including Osteria del Circo.

Osteria del Circo has been “a family affair” since it opened in 1996, a Maccioni family collaboration between Sirio, his wife Egidiana and their sons, Mauro and Marco. Circo offers upscale Italian fare served in a lively, sophisticated setting reminiscent of the old-style European circus tents which inspired the restaurant’s name.

In addition to the original New York restaurants, Le Cirque is also located in Las Vegas, Casa de Campo, New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and opening soon in Dubai, and Circo can be found in Casa de Campo, Southampton, Abu Dhabi and opening soon in Dallas, Orlando and Doha.

www.circonyc.com / www.lecirque.com

From Monday, February 15 through Saturday, February 20, renowned restaurants Circo and Le Cirque will host Flavors of Monaco – a Monégasque culinary week in association with luxury hospitality group Monte-Carlo SBM. Chef Paolo Sari, Executive Chef of the Monte-Carlo Beach modafinil-buy.comwill bring his innovative and avant-garde farm-to-table style to create the week’s prix-fixe all organic menus at the Maccioni family’s landmark eateries: lunch and dinner at Circo, dinner only at Le Cirque – as well as a 5-course degustation menu.

Venice-born Paolo Sari has been running the kitchens of the Five-starred Monte-Carlo Beach Hotel since 2012. In just over a year, his seasonal, quality-oriented approach to cooking earned the hotel’s restaurant Elsa (named after American writer Elsa Maxwell) its first Michelin star – making Elsa the world’s only 100% organic Michelin-starred restaurant. Sari imposes an absolute 100% organic rule to everything that comes into the kitchen. His “healthy mind in a healthy body” approach starts with the careful selection of produce from his own vegetable garden in the hills above Monaco and from farms in neighboring villages. “Organic is a true way of life for us; it represents excellence in both taste and health. It brings wellbeing to the palate, the body and the mind,” says Sari.

On the menu for Flavors of Monaco week will be a selection of dishes combining the culinary influences of southern France and Italy and incorporating the Northeast U.S. local products for a seasonal “menu du marché” flair. All ingredients will be selected from local organic farms or fished in open waters. Chef Sari’s careful selection of ingredients is epitomized in his signature “bio sama” dish of seasonal vegetables and herbs. Menu selections will also include local red mullet roasted “Riviera-style,” asparagus, egg and truffle over crispy potatoes and fondue, and Elsa’s signature soufflé.

A Dinner & Ballet package is available for the evenings of February 18, 19 and 20. Priced at $145 per person, the package includes a 3-course prix-fixe Flavors of Monaco dinner at Circo with a complimentary glass of champagne, a premium orchestra seat at Cinderella by Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo at New York City Center and a ballet souvenir program autographed by choreographer, Jean-Christophe Maillot.

On view – free and open to the public – for the first time in the U.S.A. at Christie’s Rockefeller Center
February 17-21

This winter, New Yorkers won’t need a fairy godmother to taste the good life. Monaco Takes New York (February 15-21, 2016), a week-long celebration of the Principality, will be showcasing some of the best Monaco has to offer. While Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo will delight dance lovers with Cinderella at New York City Center, a companion exhibition of behind-the-scenes photographs at the New York headquarters of world-renowned auctioneers, Christie’s, will take visitors on an intimate backstage tour.

On exhibition for the first time in the United States, twenty photographs by Monaco-born Alice Blangero take us Inside Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo as she captures the innermost moments of the company’s work. While some of the photos focus on dancers waiting in the wings or backstage during a performance, most of them show the dancers during everyday rehearsals.

“That first phase of creation and rehearsal offers me proximity and an insight to the dancers and the choreographer that the stage doesn’t allow,” explained Blangero.

These limited edition prints, signed by the artist, are available for purchase*. A price list is available at Christie’s front desk or via email at info@monaco-consulate.com. All proceeds will benefit Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo. Please direct all inquiries to that same email. (*sale transactions handled through the Consulate General of Monaco, not through Christie’s).

Born in Monaco in 1979, Alice Blangero first became interested in the art of portraiture photography before moving to Paris between 2005 and 2010 to immerse herself in the world of musicians, actors and artists. In 2010, she had her first collaboration with Jean-Christophe Maillot for the centenary celebrations of the Russian Ballet.https://www.buygenericmds.com/ultram-tramadol/
It was through this project that she discovered ballet as an artistic medium whose goals of portraying emotion and artistic sensitivity aligned with her own desires for her work.

Inside Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo is on view from Wednesday through Sunday, February 17-21 at Christie’s Rockefeller Center (Lobby Gallery), 20 Rockefeller Plaza (at West 49th Street). Free and open to the public, Wed-Sat: 10:00am-5:00pm / Sun: 1:00pm-5:00pm.

‘Inside Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo’ is part of the ‘Monaco Takes New York’ series of events (February 15-21) presented by the Consulate General of Monaco and Monaco Government Tourist Office in New York, with the support of the Embassy of Monaco to the United States.

U.S. Senators Edward Markey, D-Massachusetts and Brian Schatz, D-Hawaii will be award presenters

H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco and U.S. Secretary of State John F. Kerry will be honored at the 2015 Peter Benchley Ocean Awards ceremony on Thursday, May 14 at the Carnegie Institution for Science at 1530 P St., NW in Washington, D.C. The world’s preeminent ocean honors are named after the late author of “Jaws” and lifelong marine conservationist Peter Benchley.

Prince Albert II will attend the ceremonies. Due to official business, Secretary Kerry is unable to attend. A VIP reception begins at 5:00 pm followed by the awards ceremony at 6:00 pm and the dinner at 7:30 pm.

The awards program was co-founded by Wendy Benchley, an ocean conservation and policy advocate, and David Helvarg, author and executive director of Blue Frontier. Often referred to as the “Academy Awards” for the ocean, the Benchley Awards recognize excellence across a range of expertise, including national leadership, policy, science, media, youth and grassroots activism.

During the 8th annual awards ceremonies, Prince Albert II will be presented with the Award for Excellence in National Stewardship.

Prince Albert II is a fourth generation ocean champion, who frequently takes part in marine scientific expeditions to observe the ocean’s most pressing challenges. He is the only Head of State ever to travel to both poles. In 2006 he established the Prince Albert II Foundation, which is dedicated to protecting the ocean and the environment, as well as addressing key threats such as climate change and ocean acidification.

“Prince Albert has played a vital role in supporting scientific research expeditions and high level collaborations around the important issues of overfishing and climate change,” said Mrs. Benchley. “He has advocated for protection of the high seas and promoted healthy ocean policies in many forums that influence decision-making on a global scale.”

Prince Albert II also will participate in a leadership forum “The Ocean in 2050,” at the National Geographic headquarters (1145 17th St., NW) on May 14. Other panelists include: Dr. Sylvia Earle, National Geographic Explorer-in-Residence, Vice Admiral Charles D. Michel, U.S. Coast Guard, and Dr. Enric Sala, National Geographic Explorer-in-Residence. The forum from 1:30 pm – 3 pm is free and open to the public.

Secretary Kerry will be honored with the award for Excellence in Policy. Accepting on his behalf will be U.S. Sen. Ed Markey, D-Massachusetts and Benchley award winner for policy in 2013.

“As someone who respected and admired Peter Benchley’s passion for ocean conservation, I am both honored to receive and pleased to accept this award….Peter Benchley’s ocean conservation legacy is an inspiration and reminder that the ocean needs every one of us to champion its cause,” said Secretary Kerry in his acceptance letter.

This year’s award winners include:

Daniel Pauly for Excellence in Science; considered a science rock star in the field of global fisheries, he is the founder of “Sea Around Us” project at the University of British Columbia and a preeminent authority on the threat overfishing poses to food security.

The Economist for Excellence in Media.http://buygefitinib.org/http://buyimatinib.org/
The Economist has dedicated a significant amount of its news coverage to the growing and varied challenges facing the world’s oceans and is encouraging the creation of a “blue economy” where economic opportunity and growth are balanced by responsible investment in a sustainable ocean. Accepting for The Economist is Charles Goddard, Editorial Director, Asia Pacific.

PETERSBURG, FL, November 10, 2014 – This past Saturday, the Monaco Government Tourist Office and the Consulate General of Monaco in New York, together with BLUE Ocean Film Festival and Conservation Summit (BLUE), hosted a private “Blue Tie” reception at the Dalí Museum, setting the stage for next year’s event in Monaco.

Oscar winner Jeremy Irons, who was in town to screen his ocean pollution documentary Trashed, stopped by to meet with several dignitaries, including the Ambassador of the Principality of Monaco to the United States, who also serves as Vice-President for the US branch of the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, Maguy Maccario Doyle, and Debbie Kinder, co-founder of BLUE.

Several representatives of the Principality were on hand to share their insights with the guests, including Olivier Dufourneaud, Ocean Policy Director at Monaco’s Oceanographic Museum and Tomas Abreu, Honorary Vice Consul of Monaco in Miami.

The next edition of BLUE will take place in Monaco, November 7-9, 2015, in partnership with The Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation and Monaco’s Oceanographic Museum. HSH Prince Albert II has emphasized both the need to shift global consciousness and the power of BLUE to help accomplish this.

“We believe this strategic collaboration has great potential to keep raising awareness worldwide about the need for ocean stewardship. The power of film can help carry this very meaningful message around the globe to help win over hearts and minds. We are very grateful to HSH Prince Albert II and the Principality of Monaco for understanding and supporting BLUE’s mission,” Debbie Kinder said. She added: “BLUE couldn’t exist without the tremendous support of our thousands of volunteers around the globe, and of course our gracious sponsors.”

The event alternates between St. Petersburg, Fla and Monaco. David Downing, Interim Director of Visit St. Pete/Clearwater and Cindy Hoddeson, Deputy Director of the Monaco Government Tourist Office in New York, were also present Saturday night and will ensure a smooth transition to Monaco as host country of BLUE 2015.

The “BLUE Tie” event coincided with the opening of a key exhibit dedicated to Picasso at The Dalí Museum – two artists who happened to have spent quite some time on the French Riviera and Monaco. “Picasso/Dalí, Dali/Dalí” features works from more than 20 international museums and collectors worldwide. There are more than 90 works in all, including paintings, drawings, prints, sculpture and archival documents, including postcards written by Dalí to Picasso.

BLUE is a one-of-a-kind film industry and community event bringing together films, filmmakers and leaders in ocean research and conservancy.

BLUE sponsors include: Rolex, Disney Nature, Google, City of St. Petersburg, St Petersburg Clearwater, Bill Edwards Presents, Bright House Networks, Glass is Life, Muvico Theaters, Tampa Bay Times, NOAA Office of National Marine Sanctuaries, Scripps Institution of Oceanography, HealthCareIQ, Poynter Institute, Make a Difference Media, Earth Advertising, Paradise, and many others.
