The USS Mount Whitney Visits Monaco For National Day Celebrations

The stately USS Mount Whitney, flagship of the U.S. Navy’s 6th fleet, is stationed in the Bay of Monaco during National Day celebrations, 19 November 2012.

His Serene Highness Prince Albert had expressed an interest in the visit of a U.S. Navy ship in the 30th anniversary year of the passing of His mother, Princess Grace, to underscore the strong ties between the Principality and the United States. A special celebratory lunch was held aboard the ship, co-hosted by the Honorable Charles Rivkin, U.S. Ambassador to Monaco, and Vice Admiral Frank Pandolfe, Commander of the 6th fleet of the U.S. Navy.
